From my reading in Titus 2 in the One Year Bible New Testament.
Wholesome teaching leads to wholesome living.
Paul challenged Titus to teach people how to live.
“As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching.” Titus 2:1
It is not enough to explain doctrines of the faith. We should be faithful to do that. But we must also show people how to live. Here are some of the people that Paul told Titus to teach.
Teach Older Men
- Exercise self control
- Be worthy of respect
- Live wisely
- Have solid faith
- Be filled with love
- Be filled with patience
Teach Older Women
- Live lives that honor God
- Don’t slander
- Don’t get drunk
- Teach others what is good
- Train younger women to…
Younger Women
- Love their husbands
- Love their children
- Live wisely
- Be pure
- Work in their homes
- Do good
- Be submissive to their husbands
Younger Men…
- Live wisely
- Do good works of every kind
Slaves…
- Obey masters
- Do your best to please them
- Don’t talk back
- Don’t steal
- Be trustworthy and good
Everyone
- Turn from godless living and sinful pleasure
- Live wisely
- Live righteously
- Be devoted to God
