4 Hope Giving Truths About The Trials In Our Lives – 1 Peter 1

Peter shares 4 truths about trials that will help you endure suffering.

1. Trials can bring future joy.

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead… 1 Peter 1:6a

Looking forward to future joy you will help get you through the pain.  Heb 12:2 tells us that Jesus, “Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame.”

Jesus endured the cross because of the joy that awaited him. In the same way we must endure our trials for the joy that awaits us.

2. Trials are temporary.

“even though you must endure many trials for a little while.” 1 Peter 1:6b

Trials last only a short time for the Christian. They only last a short time compared to how long we will be in Heaven with Jesus!

3. Trials test your faith.

“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.” 1 Peter 1:7a

Suffering is the greatest test of our faith. When times get hard, we see if we are really going to cling to the promises of God or not.

“In the same way fire separates pure gold from the rest, trials show who is truly genuine in their faith.” Tweet This

4. Trials can bring future honor.

“So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” 1 Peter 1:17b

Those who suffer well will be given praise, glory and honor when Jesus comes back. What a celebration that will be!
