6 Things You Receive When You Receive Christ – Acts 26

From my reading in Acts 26 in the One Year New Testament.

When a person receives Christ they receive so many things!

Paul was explaining his conversion and calling to King Agrippa  he quoted what Jesus said to him,

“Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.” Act 26:17-18

Jesus told them that the Gentiles would receive many things when through Paul’s message. These are six things that you will receive when you receive Jesus.

1. Your Eyes Will Be Opened

Your eyes will be opened to spiritual realities.  You will finally be able to understand how to be saved.

2. You Will Turn From Darkness To Light

When you receive Jesus, your desires will change from wanting to live in the darkness to living in the light. You no longer have to wonder what the truth is because you have seen the light!

3. You Will Turn From The Power Of Satan To God

Without Jesus you are a slave to sin and to Satan. Jesus gives you the power to overcome temptation. When you are living with the power of Jesus you can exhibit self-control.

4. You Receive Forgiveness

Jesus offers you forgiveness for your sins through his death on the cross. Through his one death all of your sins, past, present and future have been forgiven. You must receive that forgiveness and when you mess up remember that Jesus already died for that sin.  You should confess it and receive his forgiveness.

5. You Are Given A Place Among God’s People

If you ever felt you didn’t belong, God has given you a place to belong! Paul was sent to tell the non-jews that they now belonged with God’s family!

6. You Are Set Apart By Faith In Jesus

When you receive Jesus your faith sets you apart from the world. You are made into different person.

Which of these six things is most meaningful to you?

As you think about all the things you recieve when you recieve Jesus, remember the greatest thing you recieve is Christ himself!
